Construction Technician / Inspector

Summary of Position:

As a construction technician, you will be trained to perform field and/or laboratory testing, observation, and inspection of construction materials (e.g., soils, aggregates, concrete, and asphalt). Other inspection services could include environmental compliance and E&S inspections. You will be expected to communicate with project managers, client representatives, contractor representatives, and others as applicable parties. Documentation regarding the project site, requirements, testing, observation, results, and inspections will be submitted daily. You will also transport material samples with associated identifying documentation to our office laboratory for further analysis. This position will be full-time and may include occasional travel.

Essential Roles and Responsibilities:

  • Ability to read construction plans.
  • Perform testing, observation, and inspection of construction materials (e.g., soils, aggregates, concrete, asphalt, and others) in accordance with training and specified procedures.
  • Perform site inspections for environmental compliance.
  • Document and submit written daily reports.
  • Provide clear documentation of daily construction project activities.
  • Perform basic analysis of data to verify accuracy before communication and submittal to the Project Manager.
  • Maintain company-provided equipment.
  • Follow safety rules and practices and other safety requirements for all projects.
  • Perform planning before executing work. Report any safety issues or concerns to management.

Requirements:

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Valid driver’s license with the ability to safely operate a vehicle.
  • Performing basic computer functions.
  • Ability to work in all types of outdoor environments.
  • Work long hours as needed.


Environmental Technician

Summary of Position:
As an environmental technician with up to three years of environmental experience through schooling or professionally. As an environmental technician, you will perform field and/or laboratory testing, observation, and inspection for environmental compliance. You will collect samples, record, and calculate field data. Perform groundwater, soil sampling, emergency response activities, and other duties.  You will be expected to communicate with the project manager, engineering technicians, client representative, contractor’s representative and others as applicable parties. Communication regarding the construction site, project requirements, and testing, observation, and inspection requirements and results should be reported. You will also transport material samples with associated identifying documentation to the laboratory for further testing and analysis. Tabulate, prepare, and submit data and observations in the form of written and digital reports. Maintain and clean equipment, vehicles, work areas and adhere to safety standards. This position will be full-time and will include travel and potential overnight stays.

  • Be responsible for maintaining quality standards on all projects.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Environmental Science, Environmental Engineering or other related Physical Science.
  • Preferred Wetland Delineation Experience
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Performing basic computer functions.
  • Ability to work in all types of outdoor environments.
